ZEb, I have some very positive suggestions for improving racing, such as a re-emphasis on the horses above all, and a restoration of the "narrative" for more interest, as Brough Scott put it so well.
Unfortunately, as most things the BHA do are against the interests of punters and racegoers, any sensible initiatives are unlikely to be implemented.
Instead, they prefer to waste time and money on counter-productive initiatives.

Dinosaurs are much maligned imo, ever heard of a Dinosaur running a tipping line, ever heard of a Dinosaurs practicing the "backit-tipit-layit" system.Ever heard of a Dinosaur being wined and Dined by a bookmaker.
I'm tired of this anti - Dinosaur prejudice, all they ever did is eat a few Neandertells when they were hungry,if they had done a better job, there would be none of the above.

Put on a hunter chase and the gate goes up. Put on a hunter chase evening or day and you'll get, in two cases, Stratford and Folkestone, your best attended meetings of the season.
It would be a great idea to have races with the same or similar conditions as hunter chases, would be much fairer and more interesting.

I heard wiz that maybe hunters that regularly get less than 8 runners are in danger due to the way bookmakers payments work - but it maybe just gossip.

All races that get less than 8 runners simply result in a lower levy payment to the racecourses. Under 5 get even less. I was reliably informed that most of the racecourses were "stitched up" by Stan Clarke's Northern Racing when this was decided about 4 years ago.
Another positive proposal:
No more 5 race NH cards!
