one that could be a bit over priced is the ed mcmahon trained RAINBOW MIRAGE. the spectrum gelding was lightly raced last year having just three starts. by far the most interesting was his 4th to the godolphin trained bab al salam at sandown . that was a decent heat in the context of todays race and a repeat off a 4lb lower mark today would see him go close imo.
he's been out the back both runs this season at wolverhampton and pontefract, running on when the race was over. from poor draws and never threatening to get competitive.
couple of negatives are the stables form, although a couple have run well recently, the jockey booking and he might prefer a little cut these days but at the prices, 14's available, he might be worth a little e/w dabble.
if not today, he still looks capable of running a big race somehwere soon, off this mark.
