Ran ok on good, but looking at the race, what has it got to beat, maybe himself.

That's the question, wins if it acts on the ground imo, but never tried it before, a conumdrum indeed.

THIS horse was trained near me,when in ire he ran on every kind of ground ,used to always wear cheek pieces ,tends to idle in front,actually beat one of mine only pt he won in horse and jockey 2 yrs ago always runs his race & stays all day,

Given the question mark over the ground, asking the trainer's opinion might have been helpful.

He's a little concerned that the horse keeps finishing 2nd / 3rd, however, if he reproduces any of those efforts, he should be good enough.
He didn't say anything about the ground.
