Horse didn't find anything off the bridle did it! That's a popular misconception, the pair of them quickened 2 lengths clear and that was a sprint, the winning jockey just caught the 2nd napping ! |

Agree some what with the person defending him because of his disability, However he is competing in competitive races, whilst not taking a fee, he is riding under rules and I'm sure he'll admit he rode too confidently and got caught napping when the winner went up his inner. Only human error, but any race reader or realist would be of the opinion, had he kicked instead of**ing his dock trying to look pretty he would have won.

Christ what a lot of pocket tossing carp on here from people who should know better but only display their lack of knowledge.
Miss Firefly is a horse that has always been hard to win with and as soon as it sees the front it wants to stop. In 26 goes Miss Firefly has only won one race and that was for today´s amateur. The guy did nothing wrong today, he just found himself in front too soon and the horse idled as it alway does. If had kicked it would have found little and just been a sitting target for the winner who also needs to come late. |

an interesting theory, but its not borne out by watching his two rides on the horse (it also doesn't help if you get the stats wrong; it has won 1/26 on the turf, but also 1/13 on the AW before today)
today http://www.attheraces.com/VideoConsole/?va=WOL_2010_04_24_01_1850 travelled handily on the rail, and just after the 2f pole jockey was looking outside him for dangers and did not ask for an effort until Ride a Swan came through on his left with under 1f to run previous run http://www.attheraces.com/VideoConsole/?va=WOL_2010_02_01_01_1405 travelled midfield on the rail, eased out and taken four wide and ridden for the full length of the straight. if he had ridden like that today I am sure the horse would have won, but he obviously thought time was on his side as the horses he could see were all flat out. it was a mistake, but an understandable one. the horse is tricky to win with, not because it stops or won't go by, but because its not very quick. for instance it went past the targeted horses here: http://www.attheraces.com/VideoConsole/?va=WOL_2009_09_25_01_1745 but got pipped on the outside by an unseen fast finisher. |
