At least 99% of the weighing room has always been made up of Irish jockeys but none of them have been able to match the likes of Francome, Piggott, Moore, Dunwoody, Carson, Cauthen, Scudamore, Swinburn, Dettori etc

I just don't understand this, does anyone know why?

* We can't involve the British/Irish AP because it might get political

during the troubles 1910 to 1955 many trainers and certainly the jockey club were wary of them becoming to powerful and lobbed trainers against them,
Not now of course but the Government was concerned about funding of the wrong type of people up until the and as far as 1973.

It was government that made sure the Irish betting Coup at Cartmel failed

Michael Kinane won an odd race or two last year. For an Irish trainer on an Irish horse.

Now, my memory is not what it was. Anybody recall the races in question?

One of the races may have been a top race in England.

I think Michael Kinane was born in Tipperary.

Jeezz, I'm sh!te at geography.

Is Tipperary in Ireland?

Dettori could be claimed as Irish under the Grandfather ruling. Similar flag and it has been argued successfuly before that the Italians are just the Irish in the sun.
