I understand that you've been disappointed by the coverage given to horse racing. I note you feel our presenters have been assisting bookmakers and effectively advertising for them.

Under the terms of the BBC Charter, no BBC service funded by the licence fee or grant-in-aid may carry advertising. We avoid giving publicity to any individual person or product, firm or organised interest except in so far as it contributes to providing effective and informative programmes.

I realise you may continue to have concerns with our coverage of horse racing. Therefore, let me assure you I've registered your comments on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that's circulated to many BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive Board, channel controllers and other senior managers.

The audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content.

All feedback we receive, whether positive or negative, is always appreciated.

Thanks again for taking the time to contact us with your views.

Fair enough Benatom. I didn't even send an articulate complaint as such, i merely pointed out that bookies - on this occasion Lads - were using the racing coverage for false advertising, Remember before the Big Bucks win, one of their presenters told us a punter walked into one of their shops and put thirty grand on it ? it's things like this that the punter should get on to them about.

^^^ no point in printing out an e-mail just o bin it. They would have done their bit for carbon emmisions and deleted it with one click of the mouse.

I brought up Wiltshire telling viewers that someone walked into Ladbrokes and placed 30 grand on Big Bucks. It's false advertising.
