Why do you not give balance to the argument and highlight the Betfair bad value wiiners?

Yesterday, Imperial Guest BFSP 4.44-1, industry sp = 6-1

To add balance I think you'd have to consider the fact that over 90% of Betfair SPs are bigger than industry

To add extra balance you would also have to add that the SP bears little relation to the prices available on course, and further that no-one who "comes racing" bets at SP.

I was at Perth today and I was asking myself what does it offer me?? Use to love going to live racing but now much better to stay at home watch on TV and trade on here.

yep, I'd rather stay home and bet via the comuter as well - means you can cover all the meetings...

but of course I realise that courses have to make money to survive. So, just as a cut of all betting goes towards supporting gamCare - does the same apply to racecourses? If not, why not?

because if they go... (gulp) it's virtual racing time :-(

the betfair sp should be better than the industry sp on 100% of races [ conveniently leaving out commission ] as their market is close to 100% when course sp is not.

the poster of this thread cannot grasp that those that go to racecourses take the best price , often bigger than betfair , and never , ever take sp.
i'm sure benatom will learn this sometime but at present he clearly doesn't.

For the record, I abhor the way in which the off course sp is calculated as much as anyone but the BFSP is a long way from being flawless.

the bsp is open to manipulation and would shrink hugely if there was more money in it. if everyone used it the thing would be a goldmine for crafty spoofers.

it is practically a tote bet at the mo.
