Yes, they need to re-plan his schedule for next season.
Something like this, I think:

November - United House Gold Cup (Ascot)
December - King George (Kempton)
February - CGA Chase (Wincanton)
April - bet 3 6 5 Gold Cup (Sandown)

This should see him get back to winning ways.
Forget about Cheltanham & Newbury as they obviously don't play to his strengths.
