too much footy and racing on. but i think all the turks are celebrating in our town
was going to throw a street party but after lastening to crying,blubbing,moaning brits everytime you put the tele on,over the last week, i feel embarassed to celebrate being english

Shakespeares birthday party
Shakespeare shares his birthday with St Georges Day and the Globe at Bankside will be the location of a huge party celebrating the birthday of the Bard himself with special workshops, games and activities. Visitors also have the chance to hear Globe actors recite some of Shakespeare's sonnets, and go on a guided walk of Shakespearean London. After the birthday events you can see one of Shakespeare's most well loved plays, Macbeth, at the start of the new theatre season at The Globe.

Saint George (ca. 275/281 23 April 303) was, according to tradition, a Roman soldier and priest in the Guard of Diocletian, who is venerated as a Christian martyr. In hagiography Saint George is one of the most venerated saints in the Roman Catholic Church, Anglican Church, Eastern Orthodox Church, Oriental Orthodox Church, and the Eastern Catholic Churches. He is immortalized in the tale of Saint George and the Dragon and is one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. His memorial is celebrated on 23 April, and he is regarded as one of the most prominent military saints.
