That aint 2 bad really and with such a huge cover price they are probably doing very nicely.

Average monthly unique users of RP website in the period 545,128 (Google Analytics).

interesting - see why they thought they would try charging. Bet they dont give figures on membership uptake.

The unique visitors numbers to the site is slightly misleading. Their wouldn't even be half a million regular UK and Ireland racing punters. Obviously they would pick up a bit internationally beyond the British Isles as well.

I'd say the actual unique persons figure is closer to 150-200k (which still isn't that bad), if I log go to it in work, at home, maybe in a hotel and then if cafe hotspot that 4 unique visit but really only one person.

I think I read somehere recently that they had 7,000 members. I don´t know how many are paid-up premium first class premier gold advantage card extra members though...

12,000 Shops ?

I stand corrected, but I wasn't aware that there were so many - thought it had dropped to between 8 an 9,000 over 10 years ago - unless the relaxed restrictions have allowed/caused an upsurge in new licences.

The number of shops, however, poses another question.

ALL the shops take the BETTING SHOP EDITION - but to buy that you have to purchase a regular edition, too.

Presumably the Racing Post circulation figures iclude the Betting Shop edition - of which many shops take two copies - which, with the regular copy added gives a somewhat different equation for 'individual purchasers'.

I was told a month or two back that they were nearing their target of 10,000 members
