according to Track reporter at Kempton..

8:46pm
Referred

Trainer George Prodromou and jockey Charlotte Kerton have been referred to the BHA in High Holborn for the running and riding of Valmari in the 10f handicap. They have been referred for breaches of the rules which deal with "intent to conceal."

They have now completed the full set:- sticking hood, slow start, reared start, ducked start, heavily restrained start, hampered, not clear run, made a noise, lost action, lost irons, and tonight saddle slipped , well done , let's hope that's the last we see of the pair of you on a British race-track, try Hong Kong next and if you get out of there alive then back to your homeland Greece.

They could have a queue running down High Holborn if they really wanted to...

intent to conceal what??

peanuts

Well done to Lydia on RUK for pointing out the airshots. I wouldn't be convinced the stewards would have spotted it on their own. Trainer and jockey should be kicked out of the sport for good.
Report sparrow April 16, 2010 9:18 PM BST
Seems a little strange that the trainer would involve this girl in this.
Report Barton Bank April 16, 2010 9:21 PM BST
Why? They did it before with Timeteam. Betting patterns were referred to BHA on that occasion. Kick em out, make an example of them.
Report sparrow April 16, 2010 9:24 PM BST
Yes I remember a couple of other occasions but It just seems odd to me that a 7lb claimer seems to be involved.
Report Barton Bank April 16, 2010 9:27 PM BST
Probably only doing what she is told to.
Report Sheikh Handsman Al Mac's Tomb April 16, 2010 9:32 PM BST
sparrow, the sad fact is she is no longer a young apprentice with ambition. She has ridden just 5 winners in 150-odd rides in the last few years in the UK, the riding fees and winning percentages from these is not a living wage, nor is the small work-riding fees earned in the Middle East, nor the rare appearance fees as a pundit on a racing channel. An incentive to ride at or below her usual poor standard would be very hard to reject.
Report sparrow April 16, 2010 9:34 PM BST
Well she must have fooled me especially after being reported in tears following the Timeteam affair.

what about the maxwell hawke ride in the last at thirsk
Report keynes1 April 16, 2010 9:55 PM BST
the ride that Eddie Ahern gave Lang Shining during the week was actually worse.
The choice of a female jockey is surely to exploit exploit the vulnerability of the stewards to the entire PC game.
Report Brodie April 16, 2010 10:09 PM BST
That was a shocker. WD Lydia for pointing it out. Of course using a 7lb claimer is a ready made excuse if any slights are advanced.

Charlotte Kerton - brainwashed or brain-dead. Soooo... Sorry. Couldn't help it. Never too late though.
Report workrider April 16, 2010 10:14 PM BST
its amazing they always noticed the little guys , and the big guns get off scott free .

shock horror in ruk and the stewards laying into the small connections

yes it looked bad and action should be taken, however its sooooooooo much easier to dig away at charlotte kerton than a top flight jock
Report stewarty b April 16, 2010 10:31 PM BST
Much ado about nothing.
Report fawwon April 16, 2010 10:32 PM BST
If anyone dares to say anything about a top jock they will just say how many group winners have you ridden and the channel 4 team will all joke about it.

Countless efforts exactly the same during every racing day, let alone week. Some jockeys are just so much better at it than others. Incidently, well done Ryan ;)
