With plenty of pace on this looks set up for a closer. Medicean Man looks the one after a decent win at Wolverhampton. He is still unexposed and has a decent pace tracking draw in stall 11.

Fol Hollow offers no value at his current price and although 2-2 at the course and still potentially on the upgrade he's likely to be hassled for the lead.

Matsunosuke will also love the fast pace and is also well berthed. He is overpriced at 18/1 but is probably better on the all weather. That said he can still sneak a place.

One with an eye to the future is Oldjoesaid. Switched to Kevin Ryan's yard he'd prefer softer ground and has a poor draw in 3. Is he likely to pop up in a big handicap at some stage of the season however and I'm sure Ryan will be trying to get him well handicapped to do so.

1pt ew Medicean Man
0.5pts ew Matsumosuke

I quite like Matsunosuke but in my opinion it has too much weight and it's Beverley form is poor ....

Good Luck

anyone else keen on this today?

consistent off marks of 96,97 in class 2 hcps

returns to the scene of 2 successes here (2/2 CD) including this race last year (off 87). has won twice since then and that was at naas (off 92) and then back here last june in a class 3 (off 94).

todays mark is 94 and both wins have seen him blast away from the front and never get headed. has another good draw today and in 4 runnings of this race dandy has had 2 winners (obviously including fol hollow). the times have been good for the 2 course CD wins and although there are some potential improving 4yo's here in the shape of medicean man and lenny bee in particular, i think this horse has an outstanding chance of making it 3/3 over CD and landing the race for the 2nd year running.

fol hollow has only twice been turned out within 5 days in its career to date and has won both times, i think the faster the better on the ground front but has run very respectably on good and managed a win on yielding so todays good ground should be spot on.

any opinions welcome...

Sneaky feeling Lord of the reins could step up here, and at least get placed.
