On a slight variation of this, more than one writer in the past has used the returns to level stakes of horses receiving the Raceform 'lw', against those that don't carry this comment, as evidence of the advantages of paddock inspection. However, for obvious reasons there has always been a suspicion that the decision to award the 'lw' is influenced by the result and the only way these paddock judges can themselves be judged is by how useful their pre-race comments are in relation to the result.

Nick Mordin use to always recommend the reading of chapter 7, ' Body Language at the Racetrack' from the book 'The Body Language of Horses'. The chapter splits the pre-race animal into the following categories; the sharp horse, the ready horse, the dull horse, the frightened horse, the angry horse. her is a few lines from the latter category:

This alerts you to watch the pre-race formalities closely and see whether the annoyed one gets over the annoyance,or just gets angrier'.
WALOFS !

I don't see colour in the same way as you saddo. They are just Tories to me but you wouldn't understand any of that being an out and out racist yourself.
