It will be interesting to see if the British Horseracing Authority takes an interest in a story involving the champion trainer, Paul Nicholls, which appeared in the Daily Mail sports diary column a few weeks ago. Writer Charles Sale spoke to Flagship Uberalles' former owner Michael Krysztofiak, who got a far from favourable mention in Nicholls' recently published biography after moving his top two-mile chaser to a new trainer. Krysztofiak claimed he had moved the horse after discovering Nicholls had taken a "five-figure kickback" when selling it to him for £160,000. Nicholls admits that former owner Austin Brady "promised me a 'drink' after a successful deal. I can't remember whether it was £5,000 or £12,000. There was nothing secretive about it." With the BHA having promised to try and clean up the bloodstock business, many will feel they should at least investigate this transaction
