Now I use RPRs to make form related selections and they are pretty good in assessing the merits of a race when issued POST RACE
However, the mystery is how the fook they arrive at the ridiculous number printed PRE RACE
e.g. todays 2.50 Ponte - Gosdens's Zuider Zee - looks a one horse race, its had 1 run over the SAME DISTANCE carrying an IDENTICAL WEIGHT 9st 3lb - 2nd/5 and returns an RPR of 79. In my opinon would be an OR of 80-85 based on that performance.
Where the hell does todays black spot rating of 90 come from ?? or are the factoring in NON FACTUAL improvement ??
it was a muddling race, Zuider was green. It must be in the context of this race - but how they do that when there are several potential dark horses???/
