Always the jockey's fault, never because the punters lumped on an unfit horse for a horribly out-of-form stable on heavy ground, who was cruelly exposed as a bookies horse in the Arc & Champion Stakes last season.
No sympathy for anyone who backed F&G yesterday.

You always get some kn ob like T88 coming along with limited knowledge blaming the punter. JM never rode the horse to win the race. That is all anyone can expect irrespective of price, form or ability. If it was 50/1 I would expect the jockey to give it every chance and if not why not. The form and price have absolutely nothing to do with it. How can the idiotic remarks you made help make this sport clean and open? The next time it may be a horse you backed and no-one gave a sh@t.

I've backed non-triers before, it's my own fault for not taking into account the circumstances of the race. Suck it up and try some kind of self-analysis rather than blaming everyone and anything bar yourself.

T88 - Yes we all know Aiden's horses are running like unfit donkeys at the moment, but just because F&G ran well but didn't win 2 of the highest class races last season doesn't make him a bookies horse. Maybe in the context of that sort of class but against yesterdays opposition he really should have been able to beat them comfortably even if not quite 100%. Clearly he is very unfit at the moment but unless the trainer told anyone publicly there was no way to know just how unfit. So fair play to you if you laid it but you were only going on the stable form not the horse in questions form.

It is nothing to do with the horse, form, trainer or jockey I expect a horse to be given every possible chance to win and the jockey to make applicable effort in the circumstances. This did not happen yesterday and as a subscriber to the Racing Post I expect this paper, with its Racing for Change claims to stand up and say something. And when it doesn't or its journalists, through fear or favour, I expect to be able to make my points if I so wish. Just read the effing thread T88 before diving in feet first, read the effing thread.

Brigust, do you honestly expect a newspaper that is really only interested in industry protectionism, and which knowingly seeks to deceive its readers about its business partners on a daily basis, to say something about this...?
Rocking the boat in any way is something the Racing Post is not going to do - there's only one real objective, and that's for its owners and its advertisers to get our money - standing up for our interests is a furlong behind, imo...

That is absolutely spot on Millhouse but as a daily subscriber I feel bound to bring this to thier attention any time I can. I never make random silly criticisms but concentrate on the higher profile and more ridiculous points where punters, and that includes me, should be taken into consideration. We buy the paper far more that the bookmakers and the bookies only subscribe and advertise because we buy it. I rate AOB as a trainer and in particular JM as a jockey but this type of thing is not good for the image of racing. C Head stated that Special Duty may need the race but at least Pasquier gave it a proper ride and a smack behind the saddle, I cannot ask for more than that but the ride JM gave F&G was awful and leaves a bad taste. It is not about winning and losing but making the effort.

Good on you Brigust - though as I have said on here before, you could argue that buying this propaganda infected newspaper if you are a punter, is now a bit like being one of the proverbial turkeys voting for Christmas...

That is as may be - Millhouse is correct, but the original post is just plain stupid regarding the run of the horse. Anyone lumping on that animal deserved to have their fingers burnt imo.

Dharma ffs read the thread. I was having a go at the Racing Post for thier lack of comment. Get it? No change there then. I never lumped on it, it was far to short for me. But I do expect the jockey to try harder than that ffs. And I do expect the RP I buy to tell the facts how they are. Is that too much to expect?
