ruby says he wasnt right and looked off colour before chelters. bit disapointed that paul didnt just tell us that instead of saying we dont know whether hes good enough and that . shows what the drift was about in the weeks uptop the race
In his pre-Cheltenham Stable Tour, Nicholls said that they were originally going to aim for the Novice Chase at Cheltenham - but, because they thought that the horse was well handicapped (as it obviously was, having trounced now 134 rated Pigeon Island, giving it weight) - they had long agodecided it's target was the closing handicap at Cheltenham.
The one proviso was that the horse had to have dry ground.
It started to rain during the second race, and the horse was pulled out..... Pigeon Island winning the race.
Maybe Ruby got mixed up ( with so many horses to think about ) and the situation was not as he just said- but it was the changed ground - otherwise, why declare it to run?
Strange, that one.In his pre-Cheltenham Stable Tour, Nicholls said that they were originally going to aim for the Novice Chase at Cheltenham - but, because they thought that the horse was well handicapped (as it obviously was, having trounced now 134
