Disgraceful ride, who ever backed FAG got to feel sorry for, not to much tho i backed the winner
Report Desert Pilot April 11, 2010 4:22 PM BST
Godolphin don't do this sort of thing.
Report Kingmambo April 11, 2010 4:22 PM BST
there was nothing wrong with the ride ffs, the horses aren't fit!
Report Desert Pilot April 11, 2010 4:23 PM BST
More reason why the Betfair SP is so important. Sooner or later O'Brien's horses will return their true value instead of the current rip-off we are seeing.

NOTHING WRONG WITH THE RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WTF IT WAS DISGRACEFUL TO WATCH
Report Eltons wig April 11, 2010 4:24 PM BST
It was close to Sea The Stars last year. Should have won that 75% fit....

I thought it was against the rules of racing to not run on your merits.

'A great schooling ride for Fame & Glory'

Bit late in the season to be going over hurdles.
Report dgc1 April 11, 2010 4:27 PM BST
would love to see them try this short of BS in the states or australia and see how long it took to land up banned/jailed
Report Desert Pilot April 11, 2010 4:27 PM BST
Rooster

Rules in Ireland are slightly different.

The authorities normally get a nice break in Barbados, at some pad owned sby ome bloke called McManus, allegedly.
Report tutan April 11, 2010 4:27 PM BST
in Ireland anything goes , you are even allowed to remount
Report trixie April 11, 2010 4:27 PM BST
"not allowed to use the track as a schooling ground are you"

Depends who you know.
Report J.D.Salinger April 11, 2010 4:31 PM BST
dgc1 is correct.

If this would have happened in Australia or the US, Murtagh wouldn't leave the racetrack alive.

Punters would make sure of that.

The horse should be there to WIN its race. They could have done that piece of work after racing.

You lot are usually complaining about overuse of the whip. Never happy.
Report brigust1 April 11, 2010 6:49 PM BST
FAG won in April last year. Not unreasonable to expect the horse to be fit when it appears on the racecourse considering the rules of racing.
Report 3753 Cruithne April 11, 2010 6:55 PM BST
Everyone should know by now O'Brien sends them out half-fit at this stage of the season.

And Fame And Glory would've been more forward last season because he was going for the Derby.
Report santa concerto April 11, 2010 6:56 PM BST
wont be fit now brigust when they know what they want off it later in tyhe year irish leger winner all day
Report 3753 Cruithne April 11, 2010 6:57 PM BST
No chance of him going for the Irish Leger.

Prince Of Wales' Stakes, Eclipse/King George, Juddmonte, Irish Champion Stakes, Arc, Breeders' Cup Turf.
Report Captain Christy April 11, 2010 6:59 PM BST
Nothing to do with it being 'half fit', the least you can expect if it is entered is that it actually attempts to win the race.
Report santa concerto April 11, 2010 7:01 PM BST

Dead right Christy, that ride was a disgrace but that mb seem to be able to do what they want.

The currupt stewards didn't take long to pull in Luke Comer when his horse caused marginal interference in an earlier race, so marginal thae the ox horse it interfeared with was 150 to get the race.

Ballydoyle can do what they want when they want.

the point is that it was a disgraceful ride and murtagh should have got a ban
Report Young punter April 12, 2010 12:40 AM BST
You back a 1/2 chance of Aiden o'brians in April, Thats what you get.
Report JOSE93 April 12, 2010 12:53 AM BST
The ride was a disgrace, but this is racing in the land where we have gutless stewards. That would never happen in Hong Kong. It was just embarrassing to racing. But, anyone who backed Fame And Glory has to be aware of the possibilities, and one of those was that the horse was unfit (or as Aidan puts it, "will improve for the run.") and Murtagh wasn't going to try at all. How the jockey and trainer can escape severe punishment after a run like that is remarkable. Murtagh will be picking up a whip ban next start if the horse is in contention with a furlong to run in a Group 1 race ffs.
Report ilikewavingatbuses April 12, 2010 1:10 AM BST

Was very solid Great Whyte, actually shortened slightly (from 1.6-ish to 1.5-ish) from the time the market opened.
