With the rise in bookie robberies recently the staff are told to keep as little money in the shop as poss. Unfortunately the chances are that most shops will be paying out more than they took in yesterday so you wont be the only one who gets told this today.

Good advertisement for the once a year punters then, sorry sir/ madam we cant pay you your £7.50 could you possibly come back monday? Regards robberies seem intent on having no money but quite happy to leave one girl in the shop on her own

The moral of this story is, don't back greyhounds.

Billys couldnt pay me out 40 on a 5-2 shot on gold cup day (about 630pm). Said they hadnt taken no money, a mate of mine had the same problem when he tried to get about 130 from a footie bet - had to go back 3 times before they had it, a fecking disgrace.

Ps info - my bet was on a horse!

The £500 morning float soon goes with punters coming in from 10 a.m. for their National winnings. Why they have to have it aas soon as the shop opens beats me. Shops don't close til 615 p.m. tonight. It's no wonder the staff have to empty FOBTs to pay out.
Report Roynreanie April 11, 2010 1:34 PM BST
The priority will always be to pay out FOBT punters for obvious reasons
Report maurice lester April 11, 2010 1:34 PM BST
ali - i went in at 630 and they didnt have it, it isnt a one off occurence. Expect most want it as soon as it opens as if they go in later they may not have it - just a thought.
