had two bets on Prince Taime this morning -

Evens with Skyblue

1.98 with betfair

I now have 1.75 sky and 1.51 betfair after a non runner.

The price of 1.98 was not a bad one in fact bigger than on offer with any bookmaker bar one.

How can this possibly be fair?????

sort it out betfair please

has it taken you eight years to realise the unfairness of the reduction factor to backers?

Im a layer. happy days.
Report geton April 11, 2010 11:10 AM BST
it does favour the lay and always has done but normally they are a bit better at looking at this.

when there is a short priced fav and a 2nd fav comes out they simply have to think about it a little more.

charged 23.8 nearly as much as the bookies and they take it out your stake as well

shocking!!!!!

geton - we all know that you are on a wind up but why don't you take a look at the graph for Pheidias and explain, if the RF on this race is so unfair, why this one's price has shortened from just under 8 into 4.4?

It couldn't just be that you took a rubbish price and the favourite has drifted could it?

Or is that you simply don't understand Rfs?

Betfair always aftertime on Non Runners, they should accept the official BHA non runner time, as stated in the bulletins published on their website.

As an example, in the race mentioned:

Buck Mulligan declared a n/r on BHA at 10:12 am. reason: Bad Scope (vets cert)
On Betfair withdrawal timed at 10:20 am.

Tot of the Knar a n/r @ 09:00am. reason: Lame (vets cert.) on BHA
Betfair time: 09:08

Funny how there is an 8 minute delay in each case, plenty of time to manipulate the market !

Surely it is the R4 system that favours the punter.
Report geton April 11, 2010 11:40 AM BST
I admit that its a tough job trying to charge the correct RF which will be fair to both sides of the market.

If its too low then not enough of a reduction is charged to the bigger priced horses and if its too high then too much is charged to the short ones.

But surely commonsense must prevail in these circumstances and the 5k traded on the fav needs to be the priority and not the 50 quid matched on the rest of the market.

I can assure you this is certainly not a wind up and im one seriously disgruntled customer this morning.
Report geton April 11, 2010 11:44 AM BST
yes the R4 system heavily favours the punter even more so in these circumstances.

Somewhere inbetween 1.51 and 1.75 would have been fair and usually betfair are pretty good at finding it. But certainly not today and i just hope whoever is responsible is getting a proper dressing down by there line manager

geton - Why don't you read my post again and explain why, if the RF was so wrong, the second favourite isn't much bigger now than it was immediately after the N/R came out?

Or is this just pocket talk from you as per usual?
