This chancer (IMHO) had his bookies pitch outside the parade ring on Friday and I was disgusted at the prices he was giving which were WAY below other bookies odds on each and every runner,
The race I scrutinised Eg Offshore Account 9/2 (7 or 8's elsewhere) plus all the other runners in the race were about 30% lower than the other bookies eg State of Play 11's etc (sorry can't remember the whole field but trust me he was significantly shorter on each and every runner). I think he was making complete mugs out of the punters who know no better and it is outrageous.
I was looking at the parade ring and said oh no my horse is only 10/1, then went to the betting ring and hes 16/1 everywhere. Had a look back at his board and it was still 10/1, every horse was between 20% and 50% lower odds than the ring bookies.
He was just a con artist taking bets from punters who werent goin into the betting ring. Someone at Aintree should have thrown him off his pitch.
he was a joke on every race.I was looking at the parade ring and said oh no my horse is only 10/1, then went to the betting ring and hes 16/1 everywhere. Had a look back at his board and it was still 10/1, every horse was between 20% and 50% lower od
i have to laugh reading this thread . ok so he was flimping , so what if he could get away with it whats the difference with putting your own prices up on here , if you get matched why worry about what other layers do .free market . im not defending him but i am defending his right to offer whatever prices he wants . whether the public bets with him is up to them and no business of the smarter minds on here .

the problem is doneithere that he was operating away from other bookmakers. Therefore punters did not know the true prices of the horses.
You also have to realise its extremley busy there, a lot of times people would not be going into the betting ring for that race. Thats why he did it.

incorrect , betfair is beaten on prices on the first few in the betting on course each day of the week its a free market . i dont want to back tiger at 3.65 for the masters so i dont . simple . if he was 5/1 i would want a bet , thats my choice .

I don't know how he sleeps at night. He is not dealing with hardened gamblers like us most of the time and takes advantage of others naievety. Morally I think it's all wrong IMHO.

As Dony states it is a free market. if he was going 10/1 the winner whilst every one else was going 16/1 then he should be praised by all Betfair traders/layers as that is what we all wish to do. Back em over and lay em under. In 1940 William H ill made his bones. laying horses anti post after they had already been taken out so 20% reduction in price is a bonus. Unless every price on his board for the 40 runners would have to be seen to see if he was offering a lesser service, perhaps all his 100/1 chances were 200.
