you clearly have an issue with this subject TheSpin'...having said similar yesterday about JP and Trevor Hemm'...both employ hundreds and put millions into the game...give it a rest imo..

After all the favours he did punters with Binocular good to see he has things going his way again ... makes racing what it is.

Well done McCoy though great jockey.

jp first started as a gambler then went into bookmaking at local dog track and then some hi profile gambles. Makes alot of money speculating on currency fluctuations.

Report Bullion April 10, 2010 4:43 PM BST

Report Red Splash April 10, 2010 4:44 PM BST
And where is he exiled from?

Hope your not suggesting that he should be paying Darlings tax.
Report dgc1 April 10, 2010 4:44 PM BST
who can blame the tax exiles - the top 5% of earners pay nearly HALF the tax

and govt wants to make it even more

Probably spent more wedge in Limerick that either the council or the government. Why line the pockets of Dail with his tax when he can put money to good use!l

DGC - I can't believe the amount of people who defend how much the rich pay in tax. Those moaning about having to pay 50% on anything over 150,000 a year must be living on another planet. As you say 5% paying the most tax but 95% of the population living on thin air after essentials. The rich have a terrible way of trying to justify their extremely fortunate financial situations. Most of them get round the tax bands via corporation tax and other such get outs. Personally if i earned more than 150 grand a year i'd be moaning about very little financially speaking. Perhaps JP should launch a singing career then he wouldn't be paying much tax at all under Irish law.
Report Ballyhackcharmer April 10, 2010 8:12 PM BST

If you want to see a likeable owner win a big race, you're in for a long wait.

No fan of JP McManus, but delighted for McCoy.

Ballyhackcharmer,

Well, seeing as I AM a fan of David Beckham and various other people who in my view have amassed fortunes by dint of hard work and providing entertainment to the public, you can rule out jealousy over wealth as my motive.

I'll leave it at that - we can all like or dislike who we please.
Report Dobbo April 10, 2010 9:23 PM BST
How many trainers does JP have horses with? It must be a fair few.
Report blackbarn April 10, 2010 9:41 PM BST
