saddened me when i heard, he kind of introduced me to classical music, ie aria on air,madame butterfly, something i had no interest in previously. don,t think you can take away the fact that he was instrumental in bringing about a change in the staid and sober way of thinking at the time which in my opinion was refreshing.

Ted Grundy show was shockin stuff to my parents :0 -swearing on t.v hadnt been heard of at that time-not on a popular programme anyway -as a young lad nearing my teen years i thought it was feckn great :)
Agree with salmon though that it was all a front hence the great "ever get the feeling you`ve been **ed" comment during their ill fated breaking up gig which was aimed in no small way towards MM As has been said many times before theres a fine line between madman and genius and Malcom McLaren was both imo Happy memories all the same -R.I.P fella |

ybor city, jonny thunders was in the new york dolls the first band that maclaren signed, try you tube ,JET BOY new yok dolls to see johhny in action its a classic track, you can see where he got his idea for the pistols, jonny also went on the first sex pistols tour in 1976.with the clash and the damned.
