yes its come round again..the greatest sports weekend of the entire year in my opinion.. first we have 2 f.a cup semis..my team chelsea take on aston vila in an intriging match after chelsea whopped em 7-1 last week in the league , villa will want revenge. then sunday spurs take on poor old pompey.every fan in the country except spurs and southampton fans will be willing good ol portsmouth on to the final. then we have the greatest jumps race in the world the GRAND NATIONAL and all the drame it entails..its simply an awesome spectacle..and when all horses n jockeys come home safe its brilliant to watch. then saturday night we have EL CLASSICO.real madrid versus barcelona..both teams locked on same points in la liga..it couldnt be more important..we have wonderful players.. MESSI.RONALDO.to name but 2...its truely fantastic..they dont like each other..more edge...catalan versus imperial spain...but 2 amazing sets of players..massiv crowd..mouthwatering..and of course the creme de la creme of golf.. THE MASTERS..played at augusta..the tournament to spark a million kids imaginations..it did mine ..to inspire them into golf.. its colour..its atmosphere.. its amazing fast greens..the fantastic bbc coverage...its almost a religeous experience..mayb a little over the top..but when i was bout 17 i first watched it and it got me completely hooked on both the masters and golf itself!it inspired me with its majesty and its excitement..so there you have it people... a weekend for sporting officienados.. who knows what might happen...one things for sure.. ITS GONER BE ACE! bring it on lol.

Can see your point vernon when you post the events together , not a soccer follower myself and no interest in golf either , it's the Aintree card for me backed up with the Heineken Cup 1/4 finals which proves it's each to their own I guess.

Good post vern, even if the mighty blues do villa 7(SEVEN)-1 again this weekend it will have to go some to top the same weekend of 20 (TWENTY) years ago when NICK FALDO, ALAN PARDEW (somewhat implausibly) and the mighty MR FRISK grabbed the headlines.
Of course Mr Frisk followed up his record-breaking National win by winning the Whitbread at a ridiculous 5/1. I have never been so confident about the result of a horse race, before or, sadly, since. Happy daze. |

vernon......We actually come from Kingston and moved to near Guildford about 25 years ago.
Still go occasionally but my other halfs health is not too clever so it's mainly TV and Betfair for us. xx |

STARFISH.wow ur right mate that indeed was an amazing weekend..sadly for me i had a massive..well for me it was...e/w bet on durham edition trained by w.a stephenson..i fancied it rotten..it came there swinging on the bridle at the last but ruddy finished 2nd..how did brendan powell not come off when rhyme n reason slid along the ground on first circuit i will never know lol..broke my heart.and my mate is a palace fan...he backed rhyme n reason then palace beat liverpool 4-3 in a classic..he told me it was best day of his life lol...
