robinlace1 07 Apr 10:41 Yeh bookies must be running for cover with 20+ other races with ew terms massively in the bookies favour. clueless comment. Yeh sorry it must be hard for the bookmakers to swallow the ew thieving bets on one race. I feel so sorry for them. Im sure if they work hard on the other they will claw it back. |
|
By:
robinlace1 - you probably hate bookies but let me explain. As a bookie you can't take two bob EW on the races where the EW is in your favour. As soon as the thieving races arrive chunks of EW get thrown at you. Some might say it is the arbers on here looking to get themselves free bets at the bookies expense.
You cannot take the rough with the smooth these days - there is very little smooth & unlimited rough. |

We are talking about Aintree. Im sure plenty will want to get on ew in most races. every day racing I agree with you, but not aintree.

A PUNTER from Kent is on the verge of a sensational £1 million payout on the Totesport Gold Cup - and he doesn't even have to be on the winner.
The William Hill telephone client staked £16,000 when placing a series of 10p each accumulators on the Cheltenham races on Thursday, with the Gold Cup as the final leg He has £90,550 running on to six horses in the Gold Cup field, and will net various amounts if they fill the places. If he gets two or three in the frame he is set to smash Hills pay-out limit. Hills director ofracing, David Hood, said: "It's the most incredible bet I have seen in 20 years in the game. "The long-shots have been winning all week, but this punter has found a hatful of them to link in accumulators and and will certainly wipe the smile off our face." |

Staked 16k to win a million, so thats like staking £16 to win a £1,000...good but not aweinspiring
|
|
By:
how on earth did he place the bet ? There must have been an untold amount of combinations and I cant see them let him sit on the phone for 10 hours reading out all the possibilities. Likewise the number of slips involved in writting it out ?
so how does someone get 16 grands worth of 10p ew combos on ? Thats 80 thousand bets isnt it ? |

By:
just do it on the net, computer works out the permations

6 x 6 x 6 x 6 x 5 x 4 x 3 x 0.2 = £15,552

telephone client!!
|
|
By:
Exactly Corky. I just cant see someone being able to pick up a phone ,call hills and do that bet.
I not clued up on the workings of bookies websites , but is it actually possible to put up 6 runners in one race , select 6 in another , and another etc etc etc. Then have the whole lot on screen and place such a bet ? The story says its a phone client anyway. |
|
By:
cannot believe Mr Lucky is a telephone client of any bookmaker.
i fear Michael uses many runners to place numerous small bets in many offices to get on. a customer with his profile would never get that bet on in 1 hit...surely? Don? |
