If you have to ask that basic - then, sadly, I doubt form will be of any use to you.

Studying form is an outdated concept as you'll discover in time.

Good luck today

Somewhat silly sweeping statement HAYDEN.

Not for everybody, in every race, it isn't - indeed quite the opposite fore those who really know how to do it ..... finding you many a LAY, aswell as a winner. ;)

Granted it can be rendered redundant in the 'Bandit races' - But who in their right mind would even consider betting on the unreliable dodge-pots that contest those low grade dross races anyway.

"Unreliable dodge-pots" applying to not only the horses. ;)

Agree , more a generalization.

Best of luck at Aintree.

Now HAYDEN - that IS a course to tread carefully using front-line 'in your face' form

- and I only follow Hurdlers, too !

Agree again , only bets for me at Aintree will be by using selective post Cheltenham hunches as much as anything else , i'm a public fader by nature so it will be lay the hunch or no bet for me as in previous years.

Spot on, HAYDEN - Often harder than Cheltenham, this meeting.

Many Official Ratings 'ran off' errors on there, stow-judge -

as on sportinglife.com, too - with them both being sourced from the same unreliable provider.

Ta, did not know that, though I don't use them. I reckon that the future form is one of the best tools available for free.

btw, this is the best source of official ratings. The BHBs weekly spreadsheet

That's just the Weekly Updated list - although even that BHA site does not get updated until a day later than elsewhere.

When you are looking at that list, any changes that have been posted - when updated mid-week - do NOT apply until the coming Saturday for Handicap races..... so SOME ratings shown will NOT apply to current Wednesday/Thursday/Friday races immediately after updating.

The list does not indicate which, or when, any changes were, made - you have to work that out for yourself - so, unless you are continually 'on the case' you would not know if any rating shown was a change made a couple of days ago, or 6 months old.

Also, there are NO historical/previous ratings shown - so it is not a tool for form study.

That's just a brief overview.
