ashleigh It's my punting week and I put in the losers as well as the winners. I thought about not including the1,000 winner, because of this sort of response, but what would be the point of 'my week' if I was being dishonest? Also, I wasn't working off the raw feed and only got onto the bet because I was watching Golden Silver closer than the others, having laid him earlier! And Luslen, you're well wide of the mark. Cheers
Matt

luslen 07 Apr 09:50 How many £27.11s has he lost at 1000.
He wont have lost many @ all betting horses travelling o.k in a race 1/2 way round whilst still on their feet.

Do you usually/sometimes work off the raw feed and if so how?

Fallons, do you think it's fair that Racing Post journalists get to enjoy a fast picture advantage that enables them to exploit the very people they are supposed to be representing...?
Check out the 'My Week' section and count the amount of 'Punting Highs' that involve an in running bet, imo....

Millhouse.fast pictures can be as much a disadvantage as advantage .I am sure the@999/1 winner had nothing to do with fast pictures but more the abilty to take a chance and be prepared to lose money. In racing if you are not prepared to lose money you will never allow yourself to win money.I myself backed@999/1 winner in York a few seasons ago.I Didnt have fast pictures but I did have the ability to notice they went off far to fast in bottomless ground and took a chance they would fall in a hole ,which they did.The game is often about chances and if you are to afraid to buy a ticket@999/1 then it is quite possible you dont take chances.

was just gonna say the same fw. Well done on your win Matt. And here's a tip for you I've learned from experience, if you think a horse has NO chance i.e Peddlers Cross at Cheltenham, always be aware ANYTHING can happen, and usually does "ON THE DAY", and as a sectional timing expert, I see MANY horses performances wildly vary every day. Used to do that myself a lot - "He's NO CHANCE". Better off in the long run realising ANYTHING can happen, respecting other punters views (they may have seen something you have missed), and you won't look like Kermit The Frog!! (just kidding). Best of luck. ;)

backing Golden Silver in running yesterday as the carnage unfolded was naff all to do with fast pics but with using eyes & not ears. A deaf person would allways beat a blind person betting in running imo.

stevie gerrard - i think RDB is referring to matts appearance on ATR's cheltenham preview where he stated peddlers cross couldnt win. i think it is all part of the mans bravado myself and take comments like that with a pinch of salt. congrats on the win yesterday though matt.

as Happy Gambler states Stevie G, was the ATR Chelt preview, John Hunt mentioned Peddlers Cross a few times during the broadcast and everytime Matt kept saying he'd no chance, wouldnt stay, went overboard IMO. I'm sure Matt was only bigging the occasion up for entertainment purposes, but John Hunt came out of that broadcast after Cheltenham looking very well IMO, and the head in hands man was required for others....

Well done matt, pleased for you. Decent lad and very generous from what i saw.
Re fast pics: I could well be wrong but if anyone knows better please post it up.
As long as ATR is on the sky package with so many other channels it will always be slow. No chance of speeding up in near future unless they provide faster pics by the internet. SIS is using an old satellite and unless they upgrade to a newer satellite their pics will remain slow as well.
Also yesterdays race was on RTE in ireland i think - faster than SIS.
Like I say if any experts out there have more info it would be appreciated.

RDB I was ahuge fan of Peddlers Cross all season, except at Cheltenham. I couldn't see him getting home under a forceful (thought he would try and make the pace) ride at the Festival. They rode him with more patience at Cheltenham and he proved what a good horse he is, while I was put in my place - nothing new there, it happens often enough! I was putting it up to and jesting with Hunty on ATR who, to be fair, was very strong on his chances.
