afraid so and my bank tell me there is no issues with the card but every firm says different
no issue with deposit just withdrawing and it is doing my box in (not that I win often)

i know I've used mastercard before, and like that they dont allow withdrawals onto the card, I'm afraid it will have to be cheque or bank transfer

You cant withdraw to mastercard period. betfair will have a cheque out to you in a week (to Ireland) so within a week to Britain. Congrats your one of 2% of profitable accounts. have the lays all lined up. its going to be a hectic 3 hours.

I have had the same problem since the Clydesdale Bank changed my Maestro to this new card. Betfair is the biggest problem but I also had issues with Bet 365 who say with this new Mastercard Debit it is not possible for them to automatically send any winnings but they have to be requested either by phone or by internet.I have now been given a new Maestro card by Clydesdale Bank because of these issues. Clydesdale say it should not be an issue but,for whatever reason,it obviously is.

You cant withdraw to it unless you go through 3d secure verification/mastercard secure code. I don't think BF make you. Unfortunately they are doing away with switch. So if you have a switchcard, whether you get a Visa or Mastercard debit depends on if you have a real bank account. If you end up with one of these poxy cards you are screwed.

new maestro cards no longer have an issue number, which causes problems with sites that have not updated card payment systems, maestro will be mastercard debit soon phasing in has started, but some banks are replacing them with visa debits.

You can withdraw from a card to BF but you can only withdraw what you have already put in from BF to the card.

I have just spoken to Betfair customer sevice about this problem and they say their systems should have been able to accept these cards last month but whatever it requires to accept these cards has not been done.My bank says that all users of these cards i.e. companies who take payment were warned two years ago by Mastercard about these new cards and to upgrade thier systems accordingle.
I don't know whether this guy knew what he was talking about,or not, but given the extent of this apparent problem then I am surprised Betfair have not themselves posted a notice about it.
