they show the photo and chappers does his best to stop people backing diamond blade,how many times did he mention first impressions,yet the tech team put up a photo of the other infront,probably nothing but it seemed a bit strange to me

For me it was nothing whatsoever to do with the freeze-frame being, "on the line."

The horses heads were superimposed upon each other - and many people, consequently, got Diamonds and Grudge's noses mixed up.

If the higher nose had been Grudge's - then the horse must have the smallest head and shortest neck in racing.

The LOWER nose was Grudge's - but many people mistook it as belonging to the FAR side horse.

The low odds-on Lay of Diamonds had to be played.
