There was an interesting article in the Racing Post today regarding dormant accounts, it made for grim reading.

Especially in gibralter whereby if you have not accessed your online account then, after a certain amount of time they can deduct an 'administration fee' monthly until the money runs out. This applies to bwin.com who apparently charges 5 euros per month if the user 'does not place a bet for any consecutive period of 12 months' . 'Bwin will deduct the Inactive Account Fee from the user's account balance until the account balance is zero' !!!!

Victor Chandler says ' Once your account has been deemed inactive, Victor Chandler International Limited is entitled to forfeit the outstanding balance'!!

I would advise all forum users to review the accounts they no longer use and close where necessary. You can always open them again.

It might be a good idea to list the accounts you are going to keep and their passwords etc and place it it an envelope and keep it with your will. Why should your money go to their pockets in death when all your life you have been trying to get it from them.

Fair point, I am sure there are plenty of accounts slipping through the net each month. Some of us are so tight we know where every penny is though :)
