In 1870 Cubone discovered an act of villainy by the Lord of the manor in charge of the Grand National.

Ever since the date the home of the event has developed a frightening, list of accidents outside of what a National Hunt horseracing event could expect.
Even the fact it was a four and a half miles event over treacherous fences, could not account for a strong possibility that a Curse placed on the house of Sefton, owing to the Lords attack of an innocent, young Gypsy Boy for no other reason than he was seen to be collecting wood for his families fire.
Nothing could account for the way that the history line of the Mollenuex family over 1000 uninterrupted died out within the next 3 generations.
At present there are some of the incidents that require more than a passing examination.

In 1895 after a mundane fall involving the heir apparent to the Sefton line, Charles William Hylton Molyneux was injured in the Sefton Chase over the National course.
For a while his injury were not seen as life threatening.
a few months after the stress of the young mans fall caused the death of his father, the 5th Earl Sefton. Even though Charles known as Mull. Was still wheelchair bound, he became the 5th earl.

Gradually over time his condition worsened, although, it was still not life threatening. He broke off his engagement to a lovely girl friend and became a recluse, in his chair being nursed constantly by his youngest sister Rose,
In the early part of 1905 a doctor diagnosed the Earl to be an imbecile, within months he had died.

A while later the sister Rose, who was so well loved by the poor in the district herself; had a break down owing to the death of the Earl, and she followed him on this decent into madness. After years of being locked away in her bed room at Croxteith Hall before being transferred to the other family home at Abeyfield, Rose was a sad soul. Locked away only being fed by a member of staff. Dieing in her sleep, a very unbalanced young lady.
Both of the sad individuals wrote in depth diaries prior to their deaths the majority have disappeared. Into the Liverpool councils, archives, after they took over the Hall.
Within 2 more generations the 6th Earl died without issue, but loads of Gambling debts.
