Last year I went to Philadelphia Park, entry free.

Thinking of going to Golden Gate in a fortnights time, shocking entry fee of $4! Turf Cub, their equivalent to Members is a whole $10 extra!

And race tracks over here wonder why attendances are down!

Entry is very cheap in most of US and France but crowds are tiny there. It's not just about money.

Agreed, and I suspect the tote only element of their betting also plays a part in that. Was pleasantly surprised by the price of food and drink as well at Philly.
Racing standard was pretty low, but as someone who went there as much for the fun element as the betting, it made for a pleasant afternoon.

Cant say too much about the tote only side of betting though, I have a job to protect lol!
