He is by someway one of the worst performing trainers at the moment ... something like 148 runners without a winner .. will often run horses every week all season ..
|
|
By:
He is vile, not fit to train a rocking horse

that hurdler of his that tried to bury the jocks after about three flights and did same to Lee Vickers at Ascot in recent years, was a right loon.

Why does he support Cartmel so much ?
must be 200 mile for his donkeys |
|
By:
Because he has a log cabin there, he is also partial to a night out at Newmarket, particually if he can run an owners horse 10lb out of the handicap there, oh yeah Windsor on a Monday night is fun too.......

Got the magic touch with football too as Director at Grimsby Town. Had a few consistent animals but as in football the stats don't lie.

sir clement freud thought he was ok, he had several horses with him over the years some in partnership with andy wright.
all trainers go through peaks and troughs some have more troughs admitedly but the smaller trainer will always struggle against th etide with their limited ammunition. he is also referred to as the sage of market rasen and i remember him as just that because about 11 or 12 years ago i put a horse of his in a placepot by mistake, think it was called lammoski or something similar, anyway the beast managed to get placed at 33s with two other rags in the first race and then it was a big sweat for the rest of the afternoon until one of the then norman mason trained red prefix horses got placed in the last race. £2500 return for £4. happy days. |

Norman was always a friend to the punter, I remember when we had stacks of runners at any meeting standing outside racecourses giving away complimentary badges to OAPs sometimes dozens or more.
