usually if i back something that hasn't proved it stays its because it has looked in need of the trip in previous runs, wouldn't be too keen on backing something upped 3 or 4f just because its bloodlines suggest it may like the extra yardage.

The distance a horse will stay depends on its ability and the class it is running in. A high class miler will get a mile and a half if the opposition is weak enough. Notalota people seem know that.
