If i was the owner of this horse i would seriously consider sending it to another trainer, preferably someone who can teach the horse how to jump as Zaarito has the potential to go to the very top if he gets his jumping sorted out. Should have won this race easily today and for him to fail to complete again is unforgivable.

Related to owners iv been trying to convince them to send it to another yard since last year, tough decision obviously

Horse jumped really well in the main, just a bit unfortunate. Will be top class with more experience. FWIW I think the trainer is one of the best around.

Colm is only learning the chaseing game which is clearly evident with BZ and Zaarito and thats where the prob lies. But then again Zaarito is wired to the moon so its a tough job for anyone. It could never hurdle no where near fluent whereas chasing he is very fluent very quick even, besides the obvious blunders. Davy hadnt asked it to pick up plenty left in the tank.
No where near overhyped, havent seen this horse in full flight yet

the best 2.4m chase in ireland, the home of the national hunt horse, trained their best horses for the powers gold cup.some of the finest ireland could offer lined up .the worlds best nat hunt jockeys, the biggest owners, the scene was set .

they all fell ,one of them managed to re mount and scrape 3rd.no wonder they all come over here to cheltenham.

I still think Zaarito would have won had he not fallen as he looked to be cantering when he came down. I do think he was given a strange ride by Condon as he was the only one to chase the strong pace set by the Maguire horse. Hard to say whether he would defo have won but i have no doubt he was the best horse in the race in a long way. As far as Irish Novices go i think he is second only to Sizing Europe who looks exceptional.

you can look at that another way , kept the horse out of trouble all the way
very difficult to make up ground when that heavy and takes a lot out,
good ride unlucky.

Didnt like the way he kept it so wide when it fell, identical to when it fell first time chasing

It was a strange race, period. Just dissapointed that i lumped on a horse at 4/1 that should have been an even money shot on all known form only to see it fail to get round again. I like Colm as a trainer but he really ought to have found the key to this horse by now.
