Come on mate, this weeks racing must be right up your street. I'm in a better run lately but like I have said before I always read your opinions in group races. You don't seem to post as much lately. I hope you and you family are in good health. For what it's worth I think Bow Echo is a certainty and backed accordingly. I got 6/5 last week, so I'm happy with that.
No argument from me that Bow Echo has the best form going into the race. What I will argue with is Racing Post headlines like "The next Frankel?", and Timeform claiming that BE put up one of the best Guineas performances this century. I will happily eat humble pie if he does prove to be a great. Personally I have it just an up to scratch win. Level with the likes of Haafhd and Night Of Thunder, and only a pound ahead of such as Chaldean and Coroebus. He looked to have quite a hard race but he has had a decent break so you'd expect him to run close to his best and he has a fav's chance.
That said, I was impressed with Talk Of New York last time and I have him only a couple of pounds behind the fav. It's not impossible that Bow Echo could run very well but drop a pound or two from the Guineas. It's also possible that TONY could improve a pound or two under pressure. I'd have the Godolphin horse shorter than the market so reckon he's the value.

Ageingpunter, well done with Bow Echo a deserved winner. While not good enough I thought TONY ran well considering the sweating and early keenness. Buick rightly wasn't hard on him when beaten. I'm sure excuses will be made by those who still think Bow Echo is a world beater, but I thought he ran right up to his Guineas win.
Beforehand I thought that Gstaad's level had probably plateaued, so I was surprised to see him run the fav so close, and I have today's effort a career peak. I'd be pretty confident of him getting the better of Bow Echo in future and would back him to do so.
