At this time of the season funny games are aplenty. However, I'd be astounded if Coolmore will run Delacroix here unless Field Of Gold is an absentee. Even then 8f is not his optimum trip.
Also, stud duty beckons for Delacroix post today's news. |

Would greatly enhance his stud value if he could win a Group 1 mile race so can see the appeal. I just wish they still ran the QEII on the Roy d course,
Doubt they would run him in the Champion on very soft ground. |

Delacroix for the Champions Stake is sensible. I think Coolmore likes to take revenge on Ombudsman. But, do not discount Calandagan either. I'm surprised he's 5.5 here.
Will Delacroix win? Not sure, but a very interesting race if all 3 turn up, ground permitting. |

Field Of Gold was 1/3 against Rosallion and Henri Mattise in The Sussex. The ground could be good or better too given forecast. No Delacroix or Henri Mattise either. If sound, he'll annihilate the opposition, I believe.

If FoG is truly sound (I've had visions of So Mi Dar) then he'll win. I'd like to see Rosallion win - he deserves one Gp 1 this season - but unlikely though if FoG is fit.

Delacroix is still in here despite the statement from AOB on saturday at the racecourse. What's the point? In case FoG is an absentee??

16 will go to post with 4 complete outsiders, with 2 from AOB. Why is AOB fielding 2 complete outsiders? Without the outsiders there will only be 12 going to post.
The fancied horses are all drawn wide eg FoG (14); Rosallion (15); Never So Brave (13). The best drawn fancied horse is Fallen Angel (8). My prediction: FoG, Rosallion, The Lion In Winter in this order. |
