Kind Of Blue won his 1ST 2 races the 2ND a Novice Stks @Donny quite impressively by over 2 1/2Ls.Was then stepped up to GP1 company in the Commonwealth Cup when running quite well although btn around 4Ls behind the current Fav for this Inisherin. Ran well in 2 GP3s since,1L behind the 2ND in the Mkt here,Elite Status, when 3RD & LTO when 2ND btn HD by another of todays rivals Givemethebeatboys going off the 11/4 Fav. Might be too much of an ask to win this but he does travel well normally & looks a decent horse in his races with a bit more in the tank.Could well find improvement as this will be only his 6TH run to date.Stable did win this with The Tin Man (2018),funnily enough from the same stall (5).Not got too much to find with Elite Status on the Nby run.Rain stays away should run well if he does happen improve. Around 12-16s with the books some playing 4Plcs. GL ALL
For me the fav has had quite a long season, and may have peaked already. Swingalong ran well in this lasy year when running solo on the stand side. Again drawn high, but plenty of pace around her. She will do for me. GL

I prefer Elite Status to Inisherin as speed figures suggest that he can run faster. Visually, Elite Status has acceleration at the end of 6 furlong races and this appears his ideal trip. Inisherin has a similar run style but does not quicken to the same amount, and this could be down to him perhaps being better suited to further (he as already won at a mile). I can see them both running alongside each other early on and then, in the last furlong, Elite Status quickening away to win.

Something could improve, but on past form I only have 3 horses who have run to Gp1 level. In the case of Bucanero Fuerte it was over a year ago as a 2yo. His Gp3 win this year was a long way below that and after a long break it remains to be seen if he's still capable. I backed Inisherin at Ascot after his impressive Haydock win. He did it well enough, but while the ratings firms thought he put up a career best, in terms of how fast he ran I had him down 3lbs from Haydock and was against him next time at Newmarket. The trainer says they've freshened him up, and even though I believe he would be a huge danger if back to his best at the track I have his career peak I won't be backing him.
I backed Elite Status last time, and while obviously being pleased with the win, I expected him to win more easily. Possibly I've overrated him, but I'm going with the view that he's better than that bare form and I've had a decent bet on him today.

Well done .Marksman. Unfortunately for me ES wasn't better than the bare form and he's gone backwards. I got away with backing him last time as I doubt I would have if I'd known that's as good as he is. I said there could be an improver but I don't think Montassib necessarily did improve in what turned out to be a poor renewal.
