ylang ylang the fav atm after a good run in the 1,000 gns prob sets the standard and was a good juvenile but too short for me . plenty of lightly raced unexposed types who have not shown their hand yet. i like the look of the gosdens SIYOLA who won on her debut over 10f in the style of a potentially classy filly ,well bred and a late maturing type and the gosdens seem to hold her in high regard and the muisidora could be her next port of call . selection SIYOLA 16/1 EW GOOD LUCK OPINIONS ENCOURAGED.
I like Ylang Ylang esp post her 1000G run; she won the Fillies Mile running on from the back. I think she'll be an ever better filly over a longer trip; Diminuendo won this race post her 3rd in the 1000G. I hope Ylang Ylang can emulate her.

Was at Newmarket over the weekend and spoke to a young lady who worked for the Gosden yard. Asked her to name a horse to follow this season from the stable and she said Siyola.

yes the last big trial a few top horses have won this, i reckon we might see a new oaks fav after this one, , didnt goodwood have a couple of derby/oaks trials in the past, the predominate and lupe ?

She has form (two wins from two starts) and a staying pedigree. In her first her race she won by 6l "eased towards finish, impressive". In the Cheshire Oaks she was looking for an out with 1f to run, got out and won.

On the other thread weeks ago I said Ylang Ylang was poor value and it was likely we'd see a better filly, but I was wrong as I still haven't seen a performance even close to average winning Oaks standard. Ylang Ylang has shown form better than the vast majority of these and just about good enough to have taken some poor Oaks in the past, but I still couldn't back her. The general thinking seems to be that she will improve for the step up, but while I think she'll stay I don't have her Guineas run any better than her 2yo form so I'm not convinced she's going to progress.
One filly that I do think has been underrated is Secret Satire, and I have her Musidora win equal to Ylang Ylang's Guineas effort. Unlike the fav she has proved she's a filly on the up. I thought she ran a decent time considering they went slow early. She was very keen that day and if she does the same tomorrow then it would be doubtful she'd get the 12f. However, she was pulling against a slow early pace at York and I can easily forgive that. In fact I even think it can be pretty natural for a fast horse to be keen in an early crawl. It's when they pull against a fast pace there's a problem. She may even improve a few pounds if she settles better in a race run at a good even pace. In what could be a weak renewal I would have her at the head of the market and she's my bet.

I've had a decent bet and also backed her with Ancient Wisdom. Still not the kind of bet I'd be having on one that had shown it was up to average Oak winning level.

in a fairly open looking race ive gone for you got to me ,trip no problem and looked a decent performance last time ,had a fair few of em in trouble behind at the turn at lingfield and tho a narrow winner in the end should improve ,trainer has won the race before and tho the betting suggests she is 2nd string here she may be the best of the yards 4 runners , wont be easy repeating the front running here and may have company up front but looks a strong stayer by nathanial and could have a bit more to give here , ylang ylang obvious chance and rubies are red should also go well but see no reason why the latter should be half the price of the winner .

Rubies are Red some strange runs. Form is only average probably. A sister to Found. Certain stayer. Could improve a bunch. What were they doing in Lingfield?

Figgis, like you I think Secret Satire is being neglected, but unlike you, I expect Ylang Ylang to win this, though I'm not especially confident. I have her 5 lbs clear of Secret Satire, and the latter is surely a dubious stayer. It's hard to rule out Forest Fairy since she has so much scope for improvement from 2nd to 3rd start, in theory at least, and Ezeliya is hard to evaluate, having come from behind last time out. But there are only two fillies that have registered meaningful speed figures for me, and I may well back both.

Can't see her having much bearing on the Arc myself. She was obviously a worthy winner and showed a higher level of form than anything in the race had shown previously at shorter trips. Maybe she can improve again but as things stand I wouldn't put her up with the better Oaks winners.

brandy i also had a few quid on delius but then noticed he had no future entries so i cashed out ,im not thatfamiliar with the french racing system and the fact that i was able to cash out prob means all is well with him , i just got spooked by the no entries i guess , i can always go back in if all is well good luck.

Figgis what did you make of the time of the race? i was surprised the overall time almost the same as the coronation cup where ryan moore put in some very slow sectionals.

A_T, for the conditions I just have it as a mid-range time performance for the Oaks. Better than the likes of Was, Talent, Qualify, Forever Together, Anapurna, but significantly behind the likes of Enable, Love, Snowfall. Even if Ylang Ylang had run to form she wouldn't have beaten her on past efforts. As I've said before I reckon it was the worst 1000 Guineas for more than 20 years. As to the winner, I wouldn't expect her to be beaten at the Curragh if she repeats that, but will need a lot moe progress to trouble the colts in Gp1s.

Foyles, did you watch Delius yesterday? What did you think? It wasn't spectacular but decent enough off of a very steady pace. I'm hoping the Grand Prix de Paris is next and then on to the Arc.
