Surely Mullins will bring over Allaho for the KG? Bravemansgame had 2 tough races. Shishkin a monkey and will need to get a pipe opener. What else will turn up?

I was thinking that they would tread carefully with Allaho until the Ryanair.

That will be the one race they would like to win with him.

3/1 for Bravemansgame and 4/1 Allaho. Of the two I'd go with the former on price; the latter is way too short judged on his 1st run back from injury, and might run in an easy race prior to another tilt in the Ryanair - his main aim of the season.

I think apart from the enigmatic Shishkin (I hope connections will dispense with the hood) one could blame Pumpkin if Bravemansgame is stuffed again at X'mas; his defeat in the Betfair could be put down to a quick turnaround from the Charlie Hall plus Haydock suited Royale Pagaille too.

If Bravemansgame wins the King George will you come on here and say what a great trainer P.Nicholls is??

No. I think Bravemansgame will still retain his crown on Boxing Day despite suffering 2 successive defeats within 3 weeks. I think Pumpkin undercooked him 1st time; 2nd was clearly an afterthought, and prize money.

Royale Pagaille loves Haydock; take away the winner Bravemansgame would have won by a distance in the Betfair.

The top Irish horses rarely come here over the holiday period. Bookies touting none runners for themselves normally.

Also lots of mind games going on between trainers who want their horses ready for the main events the King George and Gold Cup and if a trainer overdoes his horse too early due to a major opponent touted to run but not coming along then it worked.

could paul  nicholls be tempted to step pic dorhey up to 3m  here ? said he is bred to stay and he has had 2 or more runners in this a fair few times ,as said bravemans 2 tough races this season ,?mrks around shishkin and the irish often stay at home pic dorhay needs to find a bit more but is improving and  the trip could bring out a bit more . nicholls said after his aintree win  last season "he will certainly get an entry for the king george.

If Alaho wins this, assuming he shows, he'd be near odds-on to repeat his triumph in the Ryanair. And, if he wins going away he'd be fav for the Blue Riband over 3m 2f. BUT,..more chance of PM Sunak being the PM again or leader of the Conservative Party post 2024/25 General Election.

Now Elliot has thrown Gerri into the mix cos it looks like it could be full of ifs and buts. Surely it would want a stiffer test???

I don't see why the race won't suit him.Won over shorter & gets 3M well.
Good race in the making if Allaho runs aswell as Bravemansgame.
What's the plan with L'Homme Presse?

According to his trainer Ms Williams L'Homme Presse is just getting going. I think it might mean the KG might come too soon.

Unusual seeing the £400 bet left up on Gerri Colombe at 4.1

A bit can be taken at 3.75 but not budging on price.

Is this a stopper bet encouraging punters to back him at lower prices on here. If he turns out a non runner a tidy sum will be made by those taking the bets on Elliots horse.

I hope Gerri does run, as it is not looking like a strong field as it stands.

He's into as short as 11/4. With that one could infer (unless a bookies' red-herring) the minds of connections are almost agiven (similarly Gerri); money talks.

I'll be a 'layer' on anything less than 3/1 when principal runners are known eg BMG, Gerri, Shishkin and The Real Whacker; others a bonus.

2/1 now post the uncertainty of Gerri's participation. A 'lay' surely.

GC going to be a NR
BMG performing like a grade 2 horse this year...
Will go off close to 2.2/2.3 would be my guess!

The market is pointing towards a no-show for Gerri; The Savill is very competitive too. I think Gerri could miss both and take in a "softie" in the New Year.

If he was 90% of the horse he was 18 months ago... he'd be 1.7 in this!

Allaho is a drifter at  15/8 from 11/4; Shishkin and Hewick have contracted into 7/2 (from 6/1) and 11/1 (from 16/1) respectively last week; Bravemansgame is solid at 5/2.
