Hope Inspiral turns up next week as would be a good contest between her and Homeless Songs. Master Of The Seas out of Queen Anne so race just became more of a procession for Baeed. Really don't want a long list of odds-on shots and fields cutting up badly next week.

The possibility of Inspiral making her reappearance in the Coronation receded with every stride Homeless Songs took in the final furlong at the Curragh. Hiding to nothing.

Inspiral into 3.8 from 7 possibly after a good workout, but no news from connections; market usually a  good guide eg Emily Upjohn (Ribblesdale). Homeless Songs is matched at 2.7 here from 2.28. I think there's little to fear if the same Homeless Songs that annihilated her Irish 1000G field turn up next week.

Gosden on Inspiral: "She's pleasing me now and going the right way. She's coming to herself and I think we're beginning to see the filly of last year, so we'll hope for a big performance."

So a "duel" is looking increasingly likely.

I've helped myself to some at 3.7/3.6/3.5 here. My only concern is Homeless Songs not turning up; winning is the least of my worry.

No rain in forecast; unless Stickels goes berserk with his hosepipe it's going to be a quick ground R.Ascot, hence the Homeless Songs drift. Inspiral can beat her for sure.

I hope Homeless Songs shows up - the race needs her; Trueshan is more iffy.

The question is can Inspiral beat Cachet or Mangoustine or Prosperous Voyage though on her 1st outing after missing several intended engagements? I'm sick of "that" outfit!

I haven't backed Homeless Songs, but the drift looks ominous. Very disappointing if bookmakers hoover up ante-post bets on both Homeless Songs and Emily Upjohn. If they are consistent in their decision making then Trueshan won't run.

Homeless Songs is out to 3.5 (£1k on offer). Bookie greed and manipulation or a possible no show from her? I've left a bait for a wee bit higher.

This is the race I most wanted to watch. I'd like to see another annihilation of her opponents similar to the Irish 2000G by Homeless Songs repeated here; a performance of the calibre of Alpha Centauri. If absentee The Falmouth, Jacque Le Marois and the Matron Stakes could be her future targets.

Amazing how so many horses targeted at R.Ascot come out at the 11th hour - Master Of The Seas, Suesa, Noble Style… and now the horses who don't want fast ground looking doubtful runners. In another year, it would be tipping down this week & the fast ground horses would all be coming out. Not just about the quandary of predicting the going, there are switching of targets too… pre-Brigadier Gerard performance, I thought Bay Bridge would more likely be aimed at Hardwicke. Reach For The Moon also looked a King Edward type.

I am already resigned to Statuette missing the Albany. All part of the perils of AP betting but never any fun to endure when the bookies take your cash on any AP bet which ends up a NR, & you obviously lose your money on the Exchange. On the flipside, you can also come up trumps with those that do end up running when you manage to snag the big odds. Overall, I still personally find AP betting worth doing, and you only need 1 like Desert Crown to win the Derby, backed at 40-1 AP, for it to be profitable.

Add Emily Upjohn to the list of NRs.

With doubts about Inspiral missing a couple of
engagements earlier,Prosperous Voyage is a big price
in this.Can't see why the horses she was in front
of in the 1000G are shorter in the mkt.Also got just
a Nck to make up on Cachet.

Yes she has still to prove she stays but I was very taken with her at Newmarket last season and should like the fast going.

Had a few £££ on Inspiral at 4.5 , that's a fair price given her 2yo form, if at herself she'll take the beating.
Few ££ ew on Discoveries, she's surely better than her Guineas run??
