What do you think folks? Thanks. I've had a dabble on Mujtaba at 10-1 last Sunday and see it's now halved in price. I have reservations about the horse being inexperienced having had just the three runs and the fact he hasn't encountered a double figure field but I have not been put off backing him. The Lincoln Handicap usually takes me a few hours to get through the runners but I think this year it took me just ten minutes of study to conclude matters with an air of confidence which does not usually apply to these 30 runner charges. I have concluded that Mujtaba, although inexperienced is the only horse in the race with considerable scope for improvement and looks the only potential group horse in a handicap.. Of the others it's the two Charlie Appleby runners who warrant the most respect and valiant prince is due to go up in the weights after an easy win in Dubai on Friday

I looked at the entries when they came out and thought there were plenty of good candidates from the big yards - Haggas, Appleby, Gosden and Varian. It was just hard to know which ones were likely to run.

However the one I was most interested in was Anmaat of Owen Burrows at around 14/1. Not sure if he is a definite runner and he wouldn’t want soft ground so haven’t played yet and will wait for the five day decs and see if there are any positive comments.

Well there's a thread in the main forum about racings 'Last Hurrah' and the complete lack of interest on this thread for traditionally one of the biggest betting races of the year seems to confirm it is on its last legs.Cry

Not the most exciting renewal I can remember and given the ground and draw Modern News looks far and away the most likely winner.

I had got my eye on Irish Admiral e/w at 25/1+ who has won fist time out each season but stall one is very off putting.

Wanting something with a high draw in case there is a bias I though Another Batt at 50/1+ e/w looked OK. Likes Doncaster and has run well in loads of similar races, including the Lincoln when 6th in 2019.

The Spring Mile worth £23,000 has 9 runners. Topweight rated 85. Its not only the Lincoln thats on its last legs.
Wont be many 0-85 handicaps worth £23k the rest of the season.

I backed Mutjaba at 10's back in mid February and kept looking in on this post to see peoples thoughts. But they never came. In a way I was proud that the horse even started as AP is not really something I do but I thought he had a great profile. Maybe more posts post race?!

Exactly ILTS ... You kept looking in,but never posted yourself, begs the question, why not?

Not a criticism of you or anyone else, long thought that 90% of viewings on here are not from punters.

Cheltenham forum at an all time low,the evidence is there that people have left in droves.

As a guess, the sport is totally unregulated and is a free for all on a daily basis.

Results like todays Lincoln are not lost on people, all the talk about Haggas jolly and Godolphin horse, yet an ex stablemate of the favourite wins comfortably, not a word will be said.

Wildly varying going reports that are totally inaccurate, the list goes on.

Un-natural watered ground, every month of the year,in my view it kills horses.

Artificial SP returns, todays Lincoln no different to every other big flat handicap that will be run this season, there will be a majical shortening of the majority of winners/placed horses,It stinks.

The sport is being strangled by the very people it gives a livelihood to.

Ask yourself a question ... Unprecedented times during the pandemic, rising costs everywhere, yet how many of the trainers have gone under?

Betfair themselves have a responsibility, these forums have been badly neglected, polluted by clowns.

Why would anyone want to post an opinion on here at the moment ..., sad reflection on racing in general.

There are many things not right with the game for sure, there are no good guys when money's involved. Keep the faith, there are still many things that are good; the horses, the people, great racing, a successful punt, a day out at the races with your mates, the festival, Grand national - I love it - always have.

As for the betfair forum, its been a steady decline for a few years now, I cannot bear going onto the Cheltenham Festival Forum these days, it's pretty awful. It's always just one or two that ruin it; I think your being kind calling them clowns noc.... Clowns are funny.
