Native Trail and Coroebus set a pretty decent standard without necessarily looking unbeatable.
I was looking for a left field alternative and a somewhat rotund amigo of mine noticed Security Code.
He has run and won once in an above average all weather maiden. Looks as if there are at least 40 horses with a similar one race one win profile and the level of form is not exactly scintillating. But there is something about the opening performance of Security Code that reminded me a bit of Inspiral’s debut effort, in that he only seemed to get the hang of what was required near the end, and having looked to be well held, suddenly quickened and ended up like he’d won easily.
The 50/1 available with Hills and Betfair is not especially exciting, but he looks to be quite an interesting prospect and I would say likely to be a group horse at some point.
