I hope so but almost a zero chance though going on past experiences and mentality of Mr Mullins. A whipping from Shishkin could be a major deterrent, unless Shishkin is a no-show.

Unless CPS is not their strongest 2 Miler .... Then it makes perfect sense.

I was looking into buying tickets and going to this one. What a mouth-watering prospect with the chance of Chacun Pour Soi and Shishkin facing off. In reality, though I can't see it happening. Chacun Pour Soi will more than likely start off in the Hilly Way at Cork and Nicky Henderson will more than likely 'bottle it' and organise a racecourse gallop for Shishkin. I doubt we'll get both of them running at Sandown, maybe one, more than likely neither but not both. Having said that I hope I'm wrong and will happily be shot down if I am. In the event that we do get this face-off, I'll be siding with Shishkin. Let's see how this pans out.

I share your view too. To me very unlikley Hendo will want to cross-sword with CPS who's a seasoned campaigner (unlike Shishkin); Shishkin will more likely to be campained in "soft" races to gain more experience until at least end of Jan 2022. Why risk bursting the bubble so soon? Shishkin is already a hot fav for the Champion Chase (on reputation and potential).

Presumably Mullins has a rough idea in his head as to how CPS ad Energumene measure up with one another, and with Energumene having missed the Arkle and Mullins with the glaring omission of a CC win, why not send CPS over and get a bit of a gauge on how far behind Shishkin they are....If indeed they are behind.

In theory it makes absolute sense for Mullins to send CPS over to get a handle on the British opposition. However it will never happen. Henderson will have an excuse not to rock up if Chacun comes over. Wont happen I'm afraid

Perhaps Mullins could pretend UDS has come out of retirement and line him up at the start only for the jockey at the last minute to whip off the false beard and moustache to reveal CPS underneathGrin

Surprise surprise Shishkin is out of the Tingle Creek. I knew Nicky would not give it a tough first assignment against the big boys

Hendo is rather touchy in his old age. He's not happy with comments from some about Shishkin ducking this race. I wish Hendo would stop leading punters up-the-garden-path waxing lyrical about his star charges on the run-up to their big assignments, then a no-show.

Maybe Hendo would adopt the attitude of Gosden running his star charges even when they were 80% "right". Or is that wishful thinking?

Nuba Negra looking the complete 2 mile chaser now , wins this before the QM.

AS for the soap opera of will he run wont he run ...I didn't enjoy the series last year and taking no notice of his one.

CPS is drifting on the Exchange. A doubtful runner or merely Nube Negra has been backed? CPS was never comfortable at Cheltenham despite odds of 8/13. Could Sandown be different being right-handed?

I fancied Nube Negra early in the week when good ground was promised. Today’s times were slow, a lot of horses finished tired and that ground won’t suit him. Either it rained at Sandown in the last two days or they’ve over-watered. I’m against Third Time Lucki in the novice for the same reason.

Backed Captain Guinness at 20 on here and 16-1 on Sportsbook and have subsequently traded. Despite being beaten 13L by Shiskin the race was run at a very fast time and if replicated good enough to win this. Hope he jumps well and gives a good show. Come on Rachel.

Easy money laying the Skelton horses. Shocking ground management at Sandown.

i wonder if anyone had thoughts on why the winner greaneteen drifted so badly in the market 12-1 compared with the 4-1 of nube negra

why wouldnt the nicholls horse compare well in the market to nube negra ? I understand every tom and jerry getting on cps , but , cant get my head around the massive drift then win . whats going on ?

just looking back at this anomaly . given that skelton was nicholls understudy , im gonna suggest that the two yards conferred and decided to back nube negra based on the enthusiasm of the skeltons . thus the big drift on greaneteen . interesting inferred relationship could  open an insight to future races
