The varian horses tend to get over-bet imo so its a surprise to see the overall profile trading at 6-1 .

I don't remember O'Brien's horses going out of form like this at this time of year before.  Contrary to what some where saying, I thought he was doing well right through spring and summer with Mother Earth, Snowfall, Love, St Marks Basilica, Point Londsdale, and in America with Santa Barbara and Bolshoi Ballet.  But the form of most of these has gone this autumn.  Even St Marks looked a bit fortunate to keep the Irish Champion after causing interference.  I think Luxembourg looks clearly the best but I can't bet on him either in these circumstances.

no , me neither , I concur . Their is a big power-struggle going on imo . I  actually think that aob is trying to kick out those that want to use every option  . I think he's a sportsman and others are businessmen . I am talking from my own opinions I should say

Given the form of AOB Luxembourg is unbackable at odds-on. The play could be The Derby at 8/1. Even then past winners of the Beresford Stakes only one Sea The Stars had gone and won The Derby in 2008.

these A/P prices they offer now are absolutely filth.
8/1 for a race 8months away,Billys are going 6/1 Laugh

Luxembourg, gem or giraffe? Boom or bust post this? Another hyped horse like Santa Barbara, US Army Ranger or High definition? Given the form of AOB and historical record of Derby winner I'd allow the bookies to play their own game.

i have had a small each way on jim bolgers mctigue has a mountain to climb stepping up to group 1 company after winning a leopardstown maiden narrowly in august . mac swinney won this last year for the same yard and unexposed and a big price 33/1 each way .

As I have said on the Luxembourg thread, this horse has the best figures for a 2yr old that I have seen since Frankel.

Putting AOB's form to one side, and allowing for the soft ground which he hasn't faced before, this horse is capable of blowing this field apart.

Now wait for the egg!

I guess you never know if a 2yo is gonna be special as a 3yo . look at rock or generous as examples , i,m not blown away by the performance , but , its not to say he isnt something special . we,ll have to wait and see .

The record of Beresford Stakes winners taking the Epsom Crown does not inspire backing him with confidence. But, at 8/1 - nothing ventured, nothing gained. 2000G? A bookie's friend more likely.

Nevertheless, any of AOB must be backed with a caution like that at the back of a cigarette packet ie it can seriously damage your bank balance.
