The reigning champion and 2x winner/course specialist are in action; Lostintranslation (11/8) and Bristol De Mai (15/8) respectively. Clan Des Obeaux (CDO) is also in contention becos' of Covid otherwise Ireland bound as previous. I'd think.
A straight fight between Lost and BDM again? I think so with Lost having the edge again, all things being equal; this is a prep for CDO for the King George.
The trainer of CDO said the same about his participation in Ireland last season; 6/1 e/w is value for 3-places. I think the soft ground, and CDO never won further than 3m are major concerns.

gash race , but a free £ 5 bet is available with betfair . lostintranslation was on the crest of a wave last year , very strong in the market considering he was taking on a high grade course specialist . this year hes missed his prep run , which i,m sure theyd a liked to do , so hes trading off the back of of last year . given tizzard looks to have the lurgy in his yard as well i will stick my free 5 squid on bristol de mai .

I thought I read in the summer that Tizzard said Lost doesn’t need prep runs and that Carlisle and Haydock were too much before the King George last year.. Betfair and KG was always the plan this time around.

'Hibore', I hope connections of 'Lost' are proved correct this season. Last season the horse was a spent force in the King George (KG) after a gruelling race against BDM. If 'Lost' wins tomorrow and goes KG he'll challenge for favouritism, I believe.

I'll seriously consider 'laying' CDO when it touches 3 here (in-running) or otherwise purely on distance, and ground. I just cannot see him being triumphant if 'Lost' and BDM are fit.

clan may have never won beyond 3m but would he have got beat in last seasons king george if it had been another furlong ? dont think the trip will be a problem , his 2 main rivals will be hard to beat and its a hard race to call .

Trips fine for Clan. Hes a course horse, loves Kempton hates Cheltenham, not so sure re Haydock, but see no reason why he would not run his race if he is as ready as his trainer says. Looking forward to this race,no betting for me,just watch.

BDM is deserved winner. He was gutsy and tough; CDO had stamina limitation exposed. The latter can atone in the King George. But, Lostintranslation? Back to the drawing board.
