Trial races today for the local horses, these races do tend to throw a few shocks so can't get too involved. Wednesday we find out the runners for the main day, hopefully some decent overseas horses make it. The prize money is still the same so you'd think there must be some appeal.

Today just each way in the mile and sprint Ka Ying Star in the mile and hopefully Big Time Baby in the sprint if he looks fit enough, if not Amazing Star. The 2000m race is between the top 2 in the betting.

Win Bright is 14-1 with WH at the moment which is way out of line with the others and has to be an ew bet if you can still get it. He’s been a little out of form but is 2 from 2 over the Sha Tin 2000m.

Sadly Betfair has been blocked in HK so missed the chance to have a good discussion about HKIR. I’m visiting the uk so had a chance to pop in and say, hello and merry Christmas. We are in interesting times, hope all are well.

KR was a bit unlucky on his seasonal reappearance but he’s looking very well and will be out again soon only got a 2lb rise and that means he’s still on a winning mark….needs a win to get into his target race in April

You too N.....he's running New Years Day at Cheltenham, loads of rain which will definitely suit.

We're adding a couple of items too as we thought his jumping wasn't up to the usual standard last run. He was a bit slow at a couple of fences where usually he makes up ground through his jumping (hope I am not putting the mockers on now). He's only 12-1 at the moment which is a bit skinny but maybe the odds setters have realised he's a bit better than they give him credit for.

A sickener for you from HKIR 2020.

As we couldn't attend we had a big day in one of my mate's places, 4 of us usually do the triple trio (first 3 home in any order on races 4,5&6). Me and another mate decided not to do it as it's usually a waste of $$ so the other 2 did.......and of course they duly won it......shared HKD 2.8 million between them (GBP 270k at today's exchange rates)
