looks like 14 runners at the 2 day stage and chindit is the fav ,unbeaten so far and hard to knock him ,yard also runs unbeaten etonian both look very usefull . thunder moon showed a telling turn of foot last time but there were 3 or 4 all in a heap and wembley and st marks basilica reopose ,st marks basilica lokks to be the value call to me of those . at the prices cadilac who has very good form and was a comfortable winner of a group 2 at leopardstown over a mile and i dont think the drop back to 7f on soft will inconvenience him the stable has some usefull youngsters and this one looks among the best of them 12/1 bog looks very fair imo. i like a few at decent prices and st marks basilica is going the right way and good form in the book looks value each way to me .
selections cadilac 1point each way 12/1 bog .......st marks basilica 12/1 bog 1 point each way.good luck opinions encouraged . |

Thunder Moon so impressive latest, that will do for me. A brilliant renewal, with so many improvers and those with yet still unknown potential the like of Poetic Flare add even more intrigue!

I'm a big Thunder Moon fan but worried if it lashes down. On good or better ground he will have far too much kick for this lot. Think Wembley will run well at a big price as well.

just re read my write up and ive somehow left out my selection of cadilac ,meant to put it in and seems something went wrong ,anyhow for what its worth ,cadilac has good form in the book and a group winner at a mile ,dont think the drop back to 7f will harm .

Both Thunder Moon and Cadillac who Ladbrokes think will be the main protagonists for next years 2000 will want better ground imo. Would not be put off them for next years Guineas if they both bomb out tomorrow. May good to firm ground will surely suit them both.

Remember Storm Bird v To Agori Mou. Small field but what a great race

Marcus Tregoning reckons Alkumait won`t mind the ground and the trip. POsted a fast time at Newbury so I`m on each way. Stands side draw will possibly favour a high draw so will have a saver on Chindit.

If City Of Troy is rerouted here because of the deluge at The Curragh on sunday why is he 7/4, and not 4/7 without Henry Longfellow? Is AOB telling porkie? I think it's a no-brainer at 7/4 here, and 5/2 for the main gig, if showing up.
By:
What did AOB say about City Of Troy today? Billie only goes 4/5.
By:
365 has gone City Of Troy 'evens' after several days at 7/4, most 4/5. Here, still £86 on offer at 2.36. Stable info?
By:
Bet365 business model is to offer seemingly generous prices out of kilter with the market. However, they're reserved for long-term losers only. That's the only way you're getting on at that price. And as you're a long-term loser, whether the horse wins or loses overpriced makes no difference, 365 definitely gets the money back eventually.
By:
I hope their business model remains. I hope City Of Troy shows for this gig too. A double bonus, if so.
By:
365 is 4/6 now. I'm being offered £36 for my £25 (x3). I do trebles and accas anteposts eg City Of Troy @ 25/1 Derby.

dont trust coolmore at all, wouldnt surprise me one bit if the fav gets pulled out and henry romps home
By:
Maybe weather concerns, potential heavy rain through Wednesday into Thursday, and then again of Friday; could well play out as per the National Stakes. I'd expect both to be declared at the 48hr, then one gets pulled Saturday morning.
By:
The weather is the worry if atrocious ground does materialise. However, City Of Troy did win the Superlative on soft going. I think one can safely assume Henry Longfellow is finished for the season post his National Stakes win.
By:
Currently Good to Soft with plenty of rain to come overnight.

The Lion In Winter is likely this way bound now on 12th Oct, not Irish Goff Million this saturday. A bruised foot apparently, according to AOB. As always the money speaks louder than words. His best price is 15/8 with Denise.
