I think if Great White Shark turns up it will be half that price - think he is declared for the Irish equivalent the next day, I guess that is precautionary.
The same can be said about LEONCAVALLO he is another that really catches the eye. Finally COEUR DE LION, has showed some decent form winning at Ascot - I think he has a decent each way chance. Hard race though - but certainly agree with OP about GWS. |

Beat me to it FELTFAIR..just backed the shark at 16/1 as well and came on here to start a similar post..I'll let you take the glory though

From 16-1 to 10-1 already on Sportsbook.

Still 16s on 356..think it will be smashed up on the day like last year but think bookies will cut the price after final decs before the money comes. I dont like going in too hard before final decs but it's good that it's his only entry while he has 9 for the irish version the next day. So we can be confident its turning up so I'm going in again on the 16s but no laying off for me

Gone in again for Authors Dream at 29-1. |

couple of weeks ago thought was verdana blue ,looks like ground be too soft. will it even run ?
|
|
By:
Forecast is slightly better for rest of week , G/S would be a result for Leoncavallo and Great White Shark . Not convinced about the trip for the former , but GWS very well treated vs last year , in good form and just needs to avoid last year's traffic problems .Managed 15s with boost .

Think Andrew Balding holds the key but not with the favourite.
Assuming they are declared I’ll split stakes on Cleonte and Diocletian. |
|
By:
Looks like Verdana Blue is out. Big price on here.

Persisting down last night and this morning at HQ.

I have had a dabble at GWS, but last run at Galway, stewards obviously had a day off, if that was a small trainer, they would have been done.
|
|
By:
I can't look past GWS, he's one of very few runners that will get the trip in testing ground and he has an ideal weight.
|
|
By:
Mullins seems very confident
Should have had more on at 16s Just have to get the 50/1 forecast with Leoncavallo instead now ![]() |

I must of been using needles or sniffing glue for a hit but I really like summer moon in the great race here, I know he has top weight and is much higher than last year but we really are getting a good price here and I’ve still got him with plenty in hand..loads of Irish look chucked in but most look useless to me...we will see
The mare has a great chance But does like to get keen with the rider so will be interesting how she runs, she looks like taking the money and was my original pick till the bookmakers took a couple of hundred and cut her to the sp return. Anyway she is chucked in so has her chance I see a few of the old shrewdies did get the price so I wish you well with the wager ![]() |

Traded out on Great White Shark, so all green. You know it makes sense. Also backed in the 5 place market.
Allowed some small each ways on Author`s Dream,Smart Champion and Just Hubert. All 7 places, huge drift on most of them suggesting the ground is not going to suit. |

A final post script to this thread.
Every couple of weeks I have a catch up call with my brother who lives in rural Kent. He enjoys a day at the races and a flutter on the football and horses to very small stakes. Last Sunday I called him and amongst all the chit chat I suggested he might like to have an interest on Great White Shark and the next day he texted me to say he had got an odds boost on Sportsbook and was on on each-way (1/5 odds 5 places) at 18-1. Yesterday evening he was in his local British Legion Club running the "meat raffle" and suggested to the local throng during the picking of tickets that a bet on Great White Shark may be in order for those who liked a bet. This evening after the event he rang me from the same British Legion Club to say he had just received a phone call from the local village vicar thanking him, having had a £5 e-w at SP. Maybe God was on our side. |

Great story, maybe this morning the churchgoers who weren't on the Shark will be taking money out of the plate instead of putting it in.
