How do we get Japan beat? Looking at his form he was beaten 1st time out as a 2 year old and was 4th in the Dante on his 1st run last year? Will the extended break be against him?

Not much of a Gp1 if Japan is 'evens' fav. Pass for me.

group1 now are very poor imo , there too many of them, do you know in the 80s there was from top of my head only about 2 of them at r ascot

japan should  be that lot easily, its a class above the opposition, you  have to take  its fitness on trust

If the rejuvenation of Addeybb abroad continues and the ground softer then he'll be the one to beat given his fitness; a squeak for Mehdaayih too if held up and fit. Japan is the highest rated runner but, a poor Gp 1 race.

Is Japan better over a mile and a half? Could one of the speedier types out kick him?

Could be some serious rain heading Ascot way according to some weather forecasts. That could tempt the layers out if they think soft ground is against Japan.
Then again, it might suit him and bring his stamina into play, if he's a more natural 12f horse.
